Moving On Up

..or over, or whatever you want to call it, but I've (finally) gotten my act together and moved the blog. From now on, you can find me over @ www.tomandbel.com.

Not About Knitting At All

Last night the BOy-O and I were fortunate enough to see An Inconvenient Truth.

Wow.
I cannot believe that this film, which I expected would be as exciting as watching paint dry, was so incredibly moving.

It made me cry.

Go see it. Then do something about it.

Knitting content (and belated happy b-days to my little sister) will come later.

The Ninth Circle

I don't actually recall enough of The Inferno to remember all the circles of Hell, but nine sounds about right for me now. It's been work, work, work for ten days in a row, and I am heartily sick of looking at that place. I have today off, and then the weekend as well; I am beyond thrilled.

Oh - I looked it up - the ninth circle is traitors. Quite propos, as the lovely cabled cardi has turned on me. Bad enough it was hotter than blue blazes and I was still trying to survive knitting a big wool sweater. But now it's gotten worse.
Ladies & gentleman (that's you, Boy-O), I have been marooned (insert creepy tv theme: dun dun DUN): on Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeve Island.

Sleeves. Possibly the least exciting picture ever. Oh look, there's lint! Perhaps that will substitute for visual interest.

I know, I know: I said I'd never try to knit both sleeves at the same time again, since it caused the earth to crumble and the seas to roil me to abandon the last sweater I attempted to make for my beloved, but I've been trying super-duper hard to be focused, to ignore my (knitting-specific) ADD and continue my winning streak of finishing one thing before I start something else.

Oops.

Unromantic

I'm so thrilled to have discovered Kristin Nicholas' blog, Getting Stitched on The Farm.

Every so often, I have this foolish little dream of us living somewhere bucolic, with the requisite passel (okay, a couple) of kids and a few chicks and some sheep.

Kristin's blog is curing me of that foolish notion.
I love seeing the gorgeous green hills and the too cute chicksand lambs, and her brilliant color sense and clever stitchery (not to mention her adorable daughter Julia), but the fact remains: at this point, life without my SBUX decaf soy latte is a life I couldn't stomach.

;-P
