The Amazing Adventures of Tom and Bel

Shit.

There is no room in my heart for any funny today.
My sister's mother passed away.
There are no words I can say to convey the awfulness, but if you've ever lost someone you love, I know I don't have to find them.
I just ask that you keep us in your prayers.
Thank you.

Vacation, all I ever wanted...

(You gotta love the Go-Gos -- little substance, but awe-inspiring vibrato...)

Shocking admission time. I warn you, it is not pretty.

Here it is: I finished a swatch.

That's right, boys & girls, while away for nearly two weeks getting hitched & celebrating that fact, I finished exactly one whole swatch.

Those of you who have picked up your jaws after the horror of such an admission can continue on to more photos of the lovey-dovey Boy-O and Bride.

I have no idea what he was going on about. Probably one of those "see, I *bought* the cow" moments...

This is my favorite picture of my lovely boy.Sigh. He's just so damn *cute.*

Our first day in Portland. Hail big as buckshot. It's like a thousand tiny papercuts. Except wet.

Those who are frightened, nay horrified that such a dedicated knitter could be distracted for one minute, never fear. I am back in the saddle, having begun teaching my latest class at Crafty Planet, and am working away on the first piece of a twin set. It's too boring to take pictures of at the moment (I'm sure you've all seen 1x1 ribbing before) so I'll spare you for today.
Tomorrow you may not be so lucky...

Before the wedding...

The wedding...

And post-wedding: the high (notice the baby bald eagle at the very top of the tree)...

And the, well, you know...

Done and DONE!

Well, we did it! It still feels weird but according the state of Illinois (and everyone referring to me as Mrs. Boy-O), we are officially married. So far, so good. ;-D
There will be pictures soon (oh, will there be pictures!) but as I'm away from home, The House of Boy-O presents the soundtrack to our love. Have a look!

See y'all soon,
Cher

The Waiting is Over

(10 points to anyone who can tell me what cheesy pop song that line comes from. )

I'm off like a prom dress, kids. We're on a mission to become Mr. & Mrs. Boy-O.

Somehow, it seems like only yesterday when I painted my bedroom sweet-&-low-packet pink because I figured as long as I was going to be single, I'd enjoy the h*ll out of it and do exactly as I pleased.
No sooner had I made that decision then my darling, beautiful baby boy fell into my life -- and quickly, into my heart.
I still can't believe my good luck.

See ya in two weeks!

Who Enjoys Being a Girl?

Your friendly neighborhood blogger, that's who! Three things which made me so happy today...

Oh, Charles, how I love thee...
My favorite stitch pattern ever (sigh). Feels so good to get the knitting back in my hands.

My darling Boy-O, hard at work...

What a cutie pie he is. He didn't even notice me taking this one.

Score! Liz Claiborne shoes for under -- way under -- $30!

[Again, edited to fix my lack of spelling prowess. Crap, but I'm distracted.]
